I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with 18 years experience in both public and private counselling settings. I help people navigate life's challenges, including family conflict, parenting, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship problems. I also provide supervision to new and experienced counsellors. I look forward to helping you find a path forward.
*Fees may change with notice and follow BC Association of Clinical Counsellors' scales. Payment is via etransfer only. Most extended health plans cover my services; confirm with your carrier beforehand.
My Approach
I encourage you to fully explore your thoughts and feelings in therapy. This may be difficult at first, and for this reason, I aim to support you to do this with careful questions about what you're noticing about yourself, in the moment, and in times when you feel most or least challenged in your life. I will help you examine responses to your thoughts about yourself, about others, and about life in ways that help reveal ideas and beliefs that may be holding you back from making changes. We will work together to define your goals for therapy. We'll assess progress in sessions by outlining your own ideas for clear signs of change. Some of those changes are internal: how you feel and think about yourself. Some changes will be external: you'll notice others are responding differently to you. You may feel more heard, more recognized, and more appreciated. You might start to notice less conflict and better communication between you and your closest people, or between you and your colleagues at work.
Mental wellbeing is dependent on our ability to fit our actions and decisions to what we value most in our lives. If you're here to address the effects of a past or recent trauma or loss, we work together to find the right pace to address painful memories. I work to help you maintain your sense of yourself and your strengths as you face problems that seem insurmountable. We'll talk in ways that help reveal new choices, new ways of seeing old problems, and new approaches to difficult conversations with people you love. I integrate evidence-based models of therapy (CBT and ACT) with relationship frameworks (EFFT, Satir, Response-based practice) to tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, giving careful consideration to other demands in your life, and what you feel you're up for at any given time.
Sessions can be booked weekly or bi-weekly, as your time and energy permits. See the contact page to book your consult.
